When we need to look inside your pet’s body to assess for disease or damage, we utilize the latest digital imaging techniques, including digital radiology (x-rays) and ultrasound. Both of these diagnostic tools are considered non-invasive and pain-free. This vital information then helps us to make a plan for treatment.
Crescent Falls Veterinary Hospital employs the latest in digital technology (x-rays that are captured on a computer rather than on film). Our radiology suite is located on-site, giving us access to important information within minutes. When needed, with a click of a button, we can send your pet’s radiographs to be assessed by a certified radiologist that consults on the case.
Ultrasound uses sound waves to assess internal tissue structure and to observe organ function in real-time. Like x-rays, ultrasounds can often be done without sedation, however light sedation may be used for longer procedures. For more complex or referral cases, we work closely with Dr. Rae, a highly-skilled ultrasonographer, who consults at our hospital on a regular basis.
If you have any questions about our imaging department and options or what to expect during your pet’s procedure, please don’t hesitate to ask.
